About visadday.bal.pe.kr
visadday.bal.pe.kr is a free, browser-only D-day reminder for foreign residents of Korea who need to keep track of their Alien Registration Card (ARC) expiration and renewal milestones. It is part of the bal.pe.kr micro-SaaS portfolio operated independently by a single Korean developer.
Why this tool exists
Korea hosts roughly 2.6 million foreign residents (2026), yet the immigration system assumes every foreigner tracks their own expiry dates. There are no automatic SMS reminders from HiKorea, and missing the four-month renewal window can mean weeks of HiKorea slot scarcity, document scramble, and—in worst cases—accidental overstay penalties. visadday plugs that gap with three things:
- A clear D-day countdown banner colored by urgency phase
- Renewal milestone calendar (.ics) for Google, Apple, and Outlook
- Visa-specific document checklist that updates as you switch class
Editorial standards
- Source-first. Every visa rule shown on this site comes from the Korea Ministry of Justice (법무부), HiKorea (hikorea.go.kr), or the Immigration Control Act on the Korean Law Information Center (law.go.kr). We link to the original source on every page.
- Dated content. Each page shows the last verification date. When the underlying rule changes we update the page within seven days and stamp the new date.
- No automation that pretends to be a lawyer. visadday is a general information tool. It does not pre-fill forms, does not file applications, and explicitly disclaims legal advice in every result.
- Data sources by category. Visa categories (D-2 D-4 D-10 E-7 E-9 F-2 F-4 F-5 F-6 H-2 and "Other") are sourced from HiKorea visa class guides; fees and processing times come from the Ministry of Justice public notices.
- Update policy. Major review once per year. Mid-year updates whenever a published rule changes (e.g. fee revision, document list update). Users can report inaccuracies to comsamo84@gmail.com — every report is reviewed within seven days.
